LISS (Low-Ionic-Strength Solution) is a buffered saline solution used to prepare human red blood cell suspensions. It is a complementary reagent for various immunohaematological methods.
PRINCIPLE - OVERVIEW
The decrease in the ionic strength of the red blood cell suspension medium induces a marked increase in the rate of antibody-antigen binding.
